Before & After
Summary
Gunnar Conley and Brian Side, agents from Upside Properties, recently took on a unique challenge in Burien, WA. A couple going through a divorce needed to sell their home and wanted to maximize their return. The property, located in a desirable area, had potential, but the homeowners' DIY attempts fell short of what was needed to secure top dollar. Collaborating with Revive Property Advisor Luke Gutierrez, Gunnar and Brian worked on developing a plan to increase the home's value and appeal. Determining a budget of $244,125, all fronted interest-free for their clients by Revive, the home underwent a transformation that included new flooring, updated baseboards and trim, fresh interior and exterior paint, drywall repairs, and softscaping. The team also installed new doors, upgraded the bathrooms, remodeled the kitchen, and upgraded the lighting throughout.
Gunnar and Brian's direction and guidance helped their sellers navigate the emotional challenges of selling through a divorce while making certain the renovation process remained as smooth as possible. The results spoke for themselves—the property sold for $1,275,000, a total of $375,000 over the original as-is price, generating a net profit of $130,876 for the sellers and a 54% return on investment. By doing right by their clients, Gunnar and Brian were able to increase their commission by 42%, and make the best of a tough situation for their clients.
